On Friday, February 15th the Edison Ballroom will once again host its special, “DINING, DANCING AND ROMANCING” event, featuring the legendary big band leader, Joe Battaglia and the New York Big Band. Joe’s brilliant big band sound is considered among the best ever.  He has performed for such dignitaries as Hilary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, and Barbara Walters.  For over 20 years, Joe and his orchestra have performed regularly at The Rainbow Room, Tavern on the Green, Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing, and most recently, right here at the Edison Ballroom. Joe’s New York Big Band is composed of a 16-piece orchestra as well as accompanying vocalists.  Also featured at this event will be the romantic Latin sounds of Direct Latin Influence, also known as DLI.

This New Years Eve, the Edison Ballroom is proud to host the legendary big band leader, Joe Battaglia and the New York Big Band at our not-to-be-missed “Annual New Years Eve Gala 2019”.  Having traveled the world performing with icons like Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, and Tony Bennett, Joe’s brilliant big band sound is considered among the best ever.  
Joe and his band have performed for such dignitaries as Hilary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, and Barbara Walters.  For many years, Joe and his orchestra have performed regularly at The Rainbow Room, Tavern on the Green and Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing.

SUMMER will open on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, 205 West 46th Street on April 23, 2018. The three actresses who will play the role of musical icon Donna Summer will be Tony Award winner LaChanze (The Color Purple, Once on This Island) as “Diva Donna,” Ariana DeBose (A Bronx Tale,Hamilton) as “Disco Donna” and Storm Lever (Freaky Friday) as “Duckling Donna.” SUMMER features a book by Colman Domingo, Robert Cary and Des McAnuff, with songs by Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Jabara and others and will be directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, with music supervised by Ron Melrose. SUMMER is produced by Tommy Mottola and the Dodgers. She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. But what the world didn’t know was how Donna Summer risked it all to break through barriers, becoming the icon of an era, and the supreme queen for every diva who followed.
