The Austrian Tourist Office presents the inaugural DANCE AUSTRIA!, fun evening of a dazzling collection of original performances by Austria and New York’s most gifted dancers and musicians. The extravaganza will include entertainment by…

  • Members of the Viennese State Opera Ballet, who will fly to NYC especially for this singular event to showcase their talents and inspire the crowd
  • The Toomai String Quintet from The Juilliard School, which will captivate guests with classical and inspired musical numbers
  • Noted Austrian jazz musician Franz Hackl, who will take the audience on a musical journey to Austria. A free waltz lesson. Learn to dance like a pro and practice your new skills throughout the evening.

WHAT:  A magical evening culminating in “the Big Waltz”, the grand finale where attendees take center stage at Lincoln Center’s outdoor plaza to dance to the “Blue Danube Waltz”, an expression of uniquely Austrian culture originally made famous by Johann Strauss. With thousands of guests dancing in unison, this may well feel like the largest outdoor ballroom EVER! And admission is FREE!
