3rd Annual Life is Priceless Gala, Sat Oct 11, to Feature Swing Band and 1945 Black tie Attire

A 1940s USO style benefit for the Wounded Warriors Project on The Intrepid, sponsored by the Life is Priceless Foundation, will take place this Saturday October 11 from 8:30pm-1:30am. Songstress Allyson Briggs, band leader of Fleur Seule is bringing in swing dancers, instructors, and a 7 piece big band for Swing Era Sophistication.

The theme for this year’s LIPF Commit Courage (#CommitCourage) Gala is Victory Day in New York City 1945. (Think the famous photo of the sailor kissing the nurse in Times Square.) The event attire is Black Tie but for those who would like to embrace the spirit of the theme all are invited to come dressed in a period correct officer’s uniform and WWII Ladies Fashion. A Broadway costumer is available to secure uniforms and help outfit all appropriately. For 1940s fashion inspiration visit the Pinterest board at

Allyson Briggs has been called “a female Frank Sinatra with the looks of Marilyn Monroe." Fleur Seule regularly brings their 1930s - 1940s Jazz & Swing to engagements at Swing 46, TOSHI'S LIVING ROOM & PENTHOUSE, Bathtub Gin NYC, Winnie's Prohibition Lounge - Refinery Hotel and The Lambs Club in New York City.
The Victory Day 1945 theme was chosen by the Life is Priceless Foundation to align with their goal of claiming the same victory in the battle against depression and suicide.
With suicide on the rise across America, THE LIFE IS PRICELESS FOUNDATION is handing a $100,000 check to Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) on October 11. Timothy Price, whose brother David took his own life in 2011, began his fundraising efforts immediately thereafter with the founding of THE LIFE IS PRICELESS FOUNDATION recruiting friends and family in the effort. The hangar deck of The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum will take on a World War II theme as over 600 young New Yorkers gather to celebrate life and to raise desperately needed funds to support suicide prevention that goes beyond the traditional hotline.
“The Life is Priceless Foundation is helping organizations on the cutting edge of suicide research & prevention and is dedicated to my brother David” says Timothy Price, Founder of the LIFE IS PRICELESS FOUNDATION. He continues; “While my brother wasn’t a veteran himself, the work Wounded Warriors is doing in the area of mental health is tremendous and hopefully this donation will help save lives".
THE LIFE IS PRICELESS FOUNDATION sponsors include (@TwoOneTwoNYC) ACS Services, Brightroll, Hip Cricket, Ninth Decimal, Opera Media and SUNY Maritime.
